He asks  Kubera to give some money for his marriage with Padmavathi.  Together, Srinivasa and Padmavathi lived forever while Goddess Lakshmi, understanding the responsibilities of Lord Vishnu, choose to live in his heart forever. In recognition of this, devotees go to Tirupati to donate money to Venkateswara’s hundi or Srivari Hundi(donation pot) so that he can pay it back to Lord Kubera.
